Apparently us Catholics and our culture are an open target for exploitation by shock media. December 8 was the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, basically a feast day honoring Mary, the mother of Jesus. Here is an interesting article detailing a show I didn't watch for good reasons. Regardless of the attack on Catholicism, this is really bad taste, and one of the main reasons that I don't watch TV any more -- too many four letter and three-letter words subsume whatever humor or drama is offered.
I've been told by many that "Meet the Fokkers" was a really nice movie -- don't they realize how much of their audience turned around without giving them a chance just based on their title? You really have to wonder what the Guys in Marketing were thinking. Did they think that the cute play on a dirty word would draw more people than it turned off? I STILL haven't seen the movie; maybe I'll get around to it but there's so much out there that does not offend my sensibilities that it's a "make time" kind of thing.
